Mayor Turner Issues Statement on Retirement of HFRRF Chair
July 28, 2016 -- I want to thank Todd Clark for his 33 years of service to the Houston Fire Department and the Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund (HFRRF). Negotiations with HFRRF and the other employee pension boards are progressing. My goal remains to work something out that will reduce the City’s pension burden while still providing secure and sustainable retirement benefits for our hard-working employees. If all goes as planned, we will complete these negotiations in time to submit a proposal to the legislature for consideration in the upcoming 2017 session.
