Investigation into Fatal Crash at 19500 Space Center Boulevard

October 12 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a man and woman at 19500 Space Center Boulevard that occurred about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday (October 10).

The identities of the male victim, 28, and the female victim, 29, are pending verification by the the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Smith reported:

The male victim was driving a black Chevrolet Malibu northwest on Space Center Boulevard when he failed to maintain a single lane, drifted across the protected median, and off the roadway.  The vehicle struck a fence at Johnson Space Center and then a tree.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The female passenger was thrown through the windshield and into the fence.  She was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  

Neither victim was wearing a seatbelt.  There are no known witnesses to the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
