Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12100 South Freeway

April 26, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 12100 South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 11:05 p.m. on Sunday (April 25).

The identity of the male victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer V. Garcia reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was walking on the shoulder of the northbound entrance ramp to the freeway at the above address, just north of Almeda Road, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.  The driver fled the scene without rendering aid.  Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

At this time, there are no known witnesses or vehicle description in the crash.
