Investigation into Shooting at 5500 South Freeway

December 10, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 5500 South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 7 p.m. on Thursday (December 9).

The victim, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Kimbrough reported:

Officers responded to a road rage incident at the above address near the Southmore Boulevard entrance ramp.  Harris County Precinct 7 Constable deputies advised officers they heard multiple gunshots in the area and believe the incident occurred between Blodgett and Wichita Streets.  The victim was found unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Paramedics transported him to a hospital.
