June 1, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 1200 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday (May 29).

The female victim, 45, was transported to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Southwest Patrol Division Officers reported:

The driver of a silver Chevrolet Cruz was traveling westbound at the above address and struck the rear of a black Dodge Journey.  The Dodge then struck a red Volkswagen Jetta.  The passenger (victim) in the Dodge was ejected from the vehicle. 

The driver and passenger in the Chevrolet fled the scene on foot, failing to stop and render aid to the passenger in the Dodge.  The Dodge’s passenger was transported to the hospital where she died.
