June 21, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 600 Maxey Road about 7:05 a.m. on Sunday (June 20).  

The identity of the male victim, age unknown, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Tran reported:  

The victim was driving a gray Honda Civic the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes of Maxey Road, when he left the roadway and struck two metal poles at the entrance to an apartment complex.  The driver was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

There were no other persons or vehicles involved in the crash.
