Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7816 Elvera Street

November 01, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one woman and the wounding of a woman and a man at 7816 Elvera Street about 10:30 p.m. last Friday (October 29).  

The deceased victim is identified as Zoraya Perez-Jaramillo, 42.  Two other victims, a male, 17, and a female, 19, were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found Ms. Perez-Jaramillo and two other persons had been shot.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victims to the hospital, where Perez-Jaramillo was pronounced deceased.  

According to witnesses, two unknown male suspects wearing ski masks and armed with guns entered the residence and ordered everyone to get on the floor.  During the robbery, gunshots were fired and Perez-Jaramillo and a male and female in the residence were struck.  The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
