Investigation into Fatal Crash at 16700 Tomball Parkway

December 19, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 16700 Tomball Parkway (State Highway 249) about 12:05 a.m. on Sunday (December 18).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer R. Guzman reported:

A silver Honda Accord was disabled in the main lane of traffic next to the exit lane to Greens Road near the above address. The driver exited his vehicle to check on the engine in an area where the highway lights were not functioning. A red Honda CRV traveling northbound on Tomball Parkway struck the disabled Accord, which then struck the male.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. The female driver, 38, of the CRV was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. She was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
