UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2021 Fatal Shooting at 11555 Fuqua Street

November 22, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 11555 Fuqua Street about 3:35 a.m. on November 14, 2021.

The suspect, Moises Castillo, 28, is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Castillo is attached to this news release.

His is accused in the death of Ada Aguilar, 47.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants A. Lopez and M. Arrington, and Detectives A. Ferrell, J. Campbell and N. Sharp reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash in a parking lot at the above address.  Upon arrival they found the victim deceased next to her vehicle.

Witnesses reported seeing security guards for a nearby restaurant firing at an unknown suspect who had possibly struck several vehicles in the parking lot.  While firing at the reckless driver, the victim, who was driving through the parking lot, appears to have been inadvertently struck.  

Further investigation identified Castillo as the suspect in this case. Members of HPD's Major Offenders Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested him on Monday (November 21) without incident and he was subsequently charged.
