October 17, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13800 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 11:25 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 16).

The identity of the deceased male, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer R. Guzman reported:

Witnesses stated the male was driving a silver Honda Accord southbound on the freeway at the above address and exited at Scarsdale Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle struck a raised median on the ramp and then a light pole. Paramedics were called and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
