September 12, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 2400 Staples Street about 8 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 10).

The identity of the victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detective A. Graf II and Officers S. Chettry and A. Ledford reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and observed paramedics administering aid to a woman who had suffered gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Witnesses stated the victim was shot while inside a parked vehicle.  They observed an unknown black male suspect flee the scene.
