April 3, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11300 Beaumont Highway (U. S. Highway 90) about 10:10 p.m. last Friday (March 31).

The identities of the deceased men are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants P. Pham and R. Dallas and Officer T. Smith reported:

A gray Chevrolet Uplander van was traveling eastbound near the above address. A blue tractor-trailer truck was exiting a private driveway and a second 18-wheeler traveling eastbound had stopped to let the blue 18-wheeler exit the driveway. The driver of the Chevrolet failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the blue 18-wheeler.

The male driver, 21 and his passenger, 20, were pronounced deceased.at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
