April 24, 2023 - A suspect has been charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 9550 Deering Drive about 2 p.m. on August 7, 2022.

The male suspect, 15, was referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder. He was in custody for an unrelated charge. 

He is accused for his role in the killing of Patrick Jackson, Jr., 18.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and found Mr. Jackson unresponsive on a sidewalk inside the complex.  He had been shot multiple times.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced Jackson deceased.

Detectives learned a possible dispute had occurred between Jackson and a male suspect who shot Jackson and then fled the scene.  

Further investigation identified a juvenile male as the suspect in this case. The case was presented to the Harris County District Attorney's Office and charges were accepted.
