UPDATE: Suspect Wanted, Charged in 2021 Fatal Shooting at 10950 Bissonnet Street

April 27, 2023 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of two men and wounding of another man at 10950 Bissonnet Street about 1:20 a.m. on October 25, 2021.

The suspect, Rudy Ventura, 26, is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court. He is not in custody. A 2021 booking photo of Ventura is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the killings of Eliexi Arce, 40, and Elmer Coto-Maravilla, 26. A third adult victim, shot in the hand, was treated and released from a hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ferrell, J. Campbell, J. Brown and M. Condon reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found three men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Mr. Coto-Maravilla, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. Mr. Arce was pronounced deceased later at a hospital.

A preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, arrived at the above location in a red or maroon Nissan Titan pickup truck. The suspect then exited the vehicle, approached all three victims who were standing outside the restaurant, and shot the victims. The suspect then got into the passenger seat of the pickup truck and fled on Bissonnet Street in an unknown direction.

Further investigation identified Ventura as the suspect and he was charged two days after the shooting. Detectives have exhausted all efforts in locating Ventura and are asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
