December 12, 2023 - Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash at 7887 San Felipe Street about 5:15 p.m. on November 28 has died.

The man is identified as Donald Callahan, 76.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell and Officer N. Duval reported:

Mr. Callahan was driving a white Ford transit van eastbound on San Felipe Street when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck the concrete curb on the side of the roadway. The van then went over a grassy area and struck the brick pillar of a building at the above address.

Paramedics transported Callahan to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on December 5.

Investigators believe Callahan suffered a medical episode leading to the crash.
