December 19, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4405 Emancipation Avenue about 12:40 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 18).

The victim is identified as Jarrick Hoskins, 34.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective C. Flora reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a business at the above address and found Mr. Hoskins suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

Investigators learned the victim and an unknown suspect were involved in a verbal dispute before the shooting.

The suspect is described only as a black male, 30 to 35 years of age.
