May 8, 2023 - The fatal shooting of a man at 3030 Greenridge Drive that occurred about 4:25 p.m. on Saturday (May 6) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Torres, II and A. Graff, II reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and learned the deceased male and his roommate had been involved in an argument. While brandishing a firearm, the male threated to kill his roommate and two other guests while they were inside the apartment.  The argument led to a physical altercation, which resulted in a fight over the handgun the male was holding.  The roommate was able to gain control of the gun and attempted to remove it from the male's hand, at which time it discharged.

The male suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The roommate was not injured.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, it was determined this case will be reviewed by a Harris County grand jury.
