May 15, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 8323 Cinnamon Lane about 7:50 a.m. on Sunday ( May14).

The identity of the victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

A female inside the residence interfered with officers as they attempted to investigate the shooting and she was subsequently arrested and charged with misdemeanor interference with public duties in Harris County Criminal Court #5.

The shooting investigation is ongoing.
