Police Seeking Information in Sexual Assault Investigation

November 2, 2023 - Investigators in the Houston Police Department Special Victims Division are asking for the public's help in a sexual assault investigation.

The suspect, Ronald Avery Eglin, 61, is charged with sexual assault in the 337th State District Court. A booking photo of Eglin is attached to this news release.

HPD Special Victims Division Detective C. King reported:

Eglin owns and operates a driver's education business located in the 12000 block of Almeda Road. A female victim, 17, told investigators Eglin sexually assaulted her during and after her driving lesson on October 2.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, Eglin was subsequently charged. He was arrested last Thursday (Oct 27).

Investigators are asking any other persons who might have been victimized by Eglin to contact the HPD Special Victims Division at 713-308-1180.
