September 27, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1300 Federal Road about 3:05 a.m. today (September 27).  

The identity of the deceased man 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rose and Officer J. Johnson reported:  

The driver of a purple Peterbuilt tractor trailer truck was traveling northbound near the above address when the 18-wheeler struck a pedestrian in the roadway.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.  

The driver of the 18-wheeler, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
