Traffic Incident at 1400 Shadowdale

April 12, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1400 block of Shadowdale about 4:10 p.m. on Monday (Apr. 11).

The deceased male is identified as Oscar Resendiz, 21, of 10515 Norton.

HPD Traffic Division Sergeant M.W. Bearden and Officer T. Nguyen reported:

Witnesses stated they saw a 2005 Acura RSX traveling northbound on Shadowdale at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control and began swerving. The vehicle went off the road and struck a chain-linked fence and then a tree. The vehicle landed upside down. The driver, Resendiz, was not wearing a seatbelt.

It was discovered the vehicle was stolen about three days ago. An investigation is continuing to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
