Update on Incident at 6200 Alder Drive

August 1, 2005 -- Houston police have learned the identity of a woman found dead at 6200 Alder Drive on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at about 7 a.m. The victim is 21-year-old Jessica Elaine Cantu and her exact cause of death is still pending toxicology tests from the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

Details of the incident are as follows:
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D. A. Ferguson and Officer B. C. McDaniel reported: An individual who called an ambulance to the scene found the Cantu face down in a grassy area between the sidewalk and street. She appeared to have several abrasions to her body. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
