Update on Incident at 10201 Harwin

March 21, 2005 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested for the fatal stabbing of a man at 10201 Harwin about 1 a.m on March 20, 2005.

The suspect, Tuan Thanh Nguyen (A/m DOB: 6-28-85), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is accused in the stabbing of Van Tien Nguyen, 22, of 5620 Glenmont #P18. The two men were not related.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. C. Bloyd and Officer D. L. Robertson reported:

Van Tien Nguyen and Tuan Thanh Nguyen were fighting in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 10201 Harwin. Tuan Thanh Nguyen, who fled on foot, stabbed Van Tien Nguyen multiple times in the chest and abdomen. Van Tien Nguyen was driven by a friend to 6800 Ranchester where they located a uniformed Houston police officer. Paramedics were called and they transported Nguyen to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Tuan Thanh Nguyen was later arrested in the 7400 block of South Gessner without incident.
