Traffic Incident at 12900 South Post Oak

April 16, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 12900 South Post Oak about 1:50 a.m. today (Apr. 16).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Officer J.A. Vega reported:

The riders of two motorcycles traveling northbound on South Post Oak at a high rate of speed struck the rear of a northbound vehicle. One rider died at the scene and the other was transported to an area hospital with a broken leg. Investigators believe the motorcycle riders were racing at the time of the accident.
