Robbery Suspects Arrested, More Victims Being Sought

September 13, 2006 -- Investigators in the Multi-Agency Violent Gang Crime Initiative have arrested three suspects in connection with an aggravated robbery at 6112 Rampart on August 21, 2006 about 4 p.m. and are asking other possible victims to come forward.

The suspects, identified as gang members, are Gerzain Rios (H/m, DOB: 10-5-88), Aron Garcia (H/m, DOB: 2-11-88), and Carlos Martinez (H/m, DOB 6-8-89). Each is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 174th State District Court.

HPD Robbery Division Officer S. Guerra reported the suspects are believed responsible for the following robberies:

• 6112 Rampart on August 21 in which a 22-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint (shotgun) and his blue Chevrolet Impala taken, along with some cash. This vehicle was later used in three other aggravated robberies.
• 6700 De Moss on August 21, 2006 about 5 p.m. The suspects, who were armed,
  shot a 16-year-old male in the stomach with a shotgun.
• 5900 Hillcroft on August 21, 2006 about 9:45 p.m. The victim, a 28-year-old male, was robbed at gunpoint.
• 6009 Bellaire on August 22, 2006 about 12:20 a.m. in which three adult victims were robbed at gunpoint (shotgun) of some cash and personal items.
• 6036 Gessner on August 23, 2006 about 10:30 p.m. The 19-year-old victim was robbed at gunpoint.
