Incident at 6519 Sloan

January 11, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile at 6519 Sloan on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 7:15 p.m.

The victim is identified as Victor Mares, 13, of 6303 Winfree #9. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the back and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.H. Roberts and Officer A.J. Palos reported:

After hearing several gunshots in the area, shortly after 7 p.m., witnesses found Victor Mares in the parking area of an apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds.
