Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at 12735 Whittington

May 15, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 12735 Whittington about 9 p.m. on Monday (May 12).

The suspect, Ana S. Flores (H/f, DOB: 10-25-87), faces a charge of murder. She is accused in the killing of her father, Miguel Flores, 42, of Houston. Mr. Flores suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. D. Shirley and Officer J. F. Robles reported:

Miguel Flores was found in a grassy area around the apartment buildings at 12735 Whittington with several stab wounds. An investigation determined Flores walked around the complex before succumbing to his wounds.

Further investigation identified Ana Flores as the suspect in this case. Flores admitted to investigators she saw her father, Miguel, standing next to her mother’s car in the apartment complex parking lot, pulled a knife out of her purse and approached him. After a brief argument Flores stabbed her father once. Miguel Flores then fled from the attack through the sidewalks between apartment buildings. A few minutes later, Flores saw her father standing outside her mother’s apartment. Miguel Flores again attempted to flee but Ana Flores chased him down and stabbed him two more times.

Ana Flores was taken into custody a short time later without incident.
