Fatal Hit and Run Accident at 4200 Southerland

May 22, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident in which the victim was found at 4200 Southerland about 7:10 a.m. today (May 22).

The unknown male victim suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N.A. Perry and Officer D.S. Schlicter reported:

Houston police responded to man down call at 4200 Southerland and found the victim lying in a ditch near a cement drain pipe. Homicide investigators were initially called to the scene, but determined the victim had most likely been struck by a vehicle and was then thrown, from the impact, to the location he was found. There were no known witnesses and it is believed the victim may have been in the ditch for several hours.
