Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman’s Death at 4005 Woodcraft

November 24, 2008 - A suspect has been arrested and charged in the death of a woman found at 4005 Woodcraft about 3 a.m. on November 18.

William James Austin (w/m, DOB: 8-14-80) is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court for his role in the killing of his mother, Florence Yvonne Austin, 55.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Senior Police Officer P.J. Guerrero reported:

Officers responded to a suicide call and found Ms. Austin deceased in her home. The officers deemed the suicide to be questionable and called for homicide investigators to make the scene.

Ms. Austin was found with a stab wound and pills around her body. An autopsy revealed she had died from a skull fracture due to blunt trauma.

William Austin admitted to homicide investigators he had struck his mother, but denied any other involvement.
