Fatal Shooting at 5800 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

September 15, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5800 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 11 p.m. on Saturday (September 13).

The victim, 21, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.D. Shirley and Officer J. Robles reported:

The victim was driving northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd at Griggs when an unknown vehicle pulled up next to his. A suspect inside the second car fired multiple shots at the victim, causing him to crash his vehicle a few feet away.

There is no known motive or suspect at this time.
