Child Death Investigation at 1105 Cresline

September 15, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a child at 1105 Cresline about 1 p.m. on Saturday (September 13).

The victim, Joshua Aguirre, 4 years of age, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Booth and Senior Police Officers A. Brown and T. Hufstedler reported:

Joshua and his family were inside their home in a confined unventilated space. Due to the power outage, the family placed a generator inside the house near the back door, started the generator, and then went to bed. The father, who was at work and unable to contact his family, asked his brother to check on them. Joshua, his stepmother, and three other children were found in the residence, suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. The stepmother and Joshua’s three siblings were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and are being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.

The investigation is continuing.
