HPD Nabs Group of Five For Burglarizing Cars at Airport

April 7, 2009 - Houston police Airport Division officers arrested five suspects believed responsible for committing nearly 100 burglaries of motor vehicles (BMVs) since the beginning of the year at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The five are identified as Demarcus Earl Alexander (b/m, DOB: 3-30-91), Marquis Darnell Harrison (b/m, DOB: 6-6-89), his twin brother Marcus Dwayne Harrison, Katory Markeith King (b/m, DOB: 8-7-89), and a 16-year-old juvenile male.  The four adult males are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity in the 182nd State District Court.  The juvenile male is being referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on the same charge.

Airport Division officers received numerous burglary of motor vehicle reports, 75 during a 10-day period from February 17-27, and supervisors coordinated an initiative with officers on foot and bicycle to address the problem and identify suspects in the cases.  Officers collected and investigated all evidence gathered from burglarized vehicles and airport garage surveillance cameras.  Undercover surveillance helped identify three vehicles the suspects were driving.

Once the suspects were identified and questioned, several of them admitted involvement in numerous other BMVs on the northside, from Humble to Greenspoint to Willowbrook to The Woodlands.

The investigation is ongoing and it is possible one or more suspects are involved in other criminal activity in the city.
