Fatal Traffic Accident at 11000 Harwin

August 11, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 11000 block of Harwin about 2:10 a.m. today. 

The male victim, 16, a passenger, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Perrotte reported: 

The driver of a gray Ford Explorer, with the 16-year-old as a passenger, was traveling eastbound in the 11000 block of Harwin when he lost control of the vehicle as he passed Boone Road.  The vehicle went up on a curb on the south side of the street and struck a residential fence.  The Explorer then struck a tree and ran into the side of a house.  The 16-year-old was transported to the hospital where he later died.  The driver of the Explorer was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in an unknown condition.  The occupants of the house were not injured. 

The investigation is continuing.
