Man Found Fatally Shot at 3500 Cullen Boulevard

February 9, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 3500 Cullen Boulevard about 7 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 7).

The victim, who had no identification on him, is believed to be homeless and in his late 50s to early 60s.  He suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer T.W. Miller and Officer M.J. Miller reported:

The victim, who appeared to be homeless based on his unkempt appearance, was sleeping in a bus stop shelter at the corner of Cullen and Holman on the University of Houston campus.  A student catching the bus to go to work found the victim lying on the bench bleeding from his head and then called 911.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead.

Although the motive in the incident is unknown at this time, robbery does not appear to have been involved.
