Fatal Shooting at 7500 Pinemont #905

January 21, 2008 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 7500 Pinemont about 3:15 a.m. today (Jan. 21) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male suspect, believed to be 18 to 25 years old, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Leblanc and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:

Two men were inside their apartment at 7500 Pinemont preparing to watch a movie when they heard a loud noise outside the apartment door. The front door was suddenly kicked open and two black male suspects entered. One was armed with a black revolver. At that time, one of the tenants, Matthew Rixner, 30, retrieved a shotgun kept nearby and fired shots at the suspects. The other tenant also retrieved a shotgun.

The suspect who forced entry into the apartment was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect managed to escape to an unknown location. He is only described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old.
