Investigation into Death of a Baby at 9818 Kell

May 6, 2009 - Houston Police are investigating the death of a baby at 9818 Kell about 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday (May 5).

The baby girl, Marley Roman, less than a year old, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. W. McStravick and Officer T. A. Andrade reported:

Baby Roman was being cared for by a female relative who called 911 after she noticed that Roman was in distress.  The relative also notified her husband.  While waiting for the arrival of emergency personnel, the two of them decided to take Roman to the hospital.  While en route, they saw an HFD ambulance which had been dispatched to their residence.  The couple flagged down the ambulance, which took Roman to the hospital where she was pronounced dead by hospital personnel.

The investigation is continuing.
