Fatal Traffic Accident at 8700 FM 1960 West May 7, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8700 FM 1960 West about 6:20 a.m. on Thursday (May 7). The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer D. Harwell reported: A gray Suzuki motorcycle was eastbound on FM 1960 when a westbound black Ford Ranger pickup turned left in front of it. The motorcycle struck the right passenger side of the pickup truck, killing the motorcyclist. The Ford Ranger was knocked onto its side, causing the driver’s arm to drag on the concrete. Excessive speed by the motorcyclist may be a factor in the accident. The investigation is continuing. KJS/JC
