Investigation into Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at 2900 South Gessner


November 28, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 2900 South Gessner about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 27).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:

The drivers of an unknown vehicle and a gray Nissan Altima were traveling at a high rate of speed, possibly racing, northbound at the above address.  When the driver of the unknown vehicle attempted to pass the Nissan on the left, he/she may have struck the Nissan causing the driver (victim) to lose control.  The Nissan veered to the left, struck a median, and rolled over several times.  The driver of the unknown vehicle then fled the scene.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
