Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6900 Southwest Freeway Service Road


September 12, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 3:10 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 11).

The female victim, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer Y. Haq reported:

The victim, driving a silver Nissan Maxima, and the driver of another unknown vehicle were both driving at a high rate of speed southbound at the above address.  The unknown vehicle apparently struck the Maxima, causing the victim to lose control, run off the road, and strike a pole.  The Maxima's driver died at the scene.  The driver of the unknown vehicle fled and remains at large.
