Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2005 Fatal Shooting of Teen

July 11, 2008 - Houston police have identified and arrested a suspect in the May 2, 2005 fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 10400 Forum Park.

The suspect, Darrion Dashawn Roscoe (b/m, DOB: 12-17-84), was arrested by members of the HPD Westside Patrol Division Tactical Unit in the 9800 block of West Sam Houston Parkway on Thursday night (July 10). Roscoe is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court for the killing of Randy Martin, 16, of Houston. The teen suffered several gunshot wounds and later died while in surgery at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants A. Carrillo, T. Hernandez and Officers H. Chavez and X. Avila reported:

Martin and a friend were walking southbound on the sidewalk in the 10400 block of Forum Park about 12:10 a.m. on May 2, 2005 when several individuals, described only as black males, passed by them driving in a white 1988-1992 Cadillac. The vehicle turned around and someone in the backseat fired several shots from an assault rifle, striking Martin. Martin’s friend was not injured.

The follow-up investigation determined Roscoe was the shooter in this incident. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
