Mayor's Office (Economic Development), City of Houston
The Economic Development Division is dedicated to promoting City initiatives and economic tools to business owners interested in relocating or expanding their companies in the City of Houston. This division coordinates a myriad of economic development incentives with businesses worldwide. We seek to help qualified companies grow their business through expansion in our City.

Office of Business Opportunity
The Office of Business Opportunity is committed to creating a competitive and diverse business environment in the City of Houston by promoting the growth and success of local small businesses, with special emphasis on historically underutilized groups by ensuring their meaningful participation in the government procurement process.

Small Business Administration
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. We recognize that small business is critical to our economic recovery and strength, to building America's future, and to helping the United States compete in today's global marketplace. The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses.

Port of Houston
The Port of Houston is a 25-mile-long complex of 150-plus private and public industrial terminals along the 52-mile-long Houston Ship Channel. The eight public terminals are owned, operated, managed or leased by the Port of Houston Authority and include the general cargo terminals at the Turning Basin, Care, Jacintoport, Woodhouse, and the Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals.

Small Business Development Center, University of Houston
The University of Houston Small Business Development Center Network (UH SBDC) serves 32 counties in Southeast Texas through 14 business consulting and training centers, providing free business consulting and affordable training seminars to small and medium-sized business owners and managers. The UH SBDC helps entrepreneurs develop and strengthen business plans and strategies, attract customers, increase sales and improve productivity and profitability.
