Incident at 5700 Gold

April 18, 2005 -- The fatal shooting of a man at 5700 Gold about 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2005 will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. The man sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officer C. Y. Park reported:

The male went over to the shooter's residence and was repeatedly asked to leave. The shooter retrieved his weapon from his vehicle and told the male to leave once again. The male started to walk towards the shooter who backed away from the man. The male picked up a heavy object as if he was going to throw it at the shooter. The shooter fired one time, striking the male.
