Incident at 6111 Sherwood

April 19, 2005 -- Charges are pending against a man in the fatal shooting of his brother at 6111 Sherwood about 8:45 p.m. on Monday (Apr. 18).

The suspect, James Wilson Davis Jr. (b/m, DOB 9-10-55), was taken into custody two hours after the killing of Randy Davis, 34. A murder charge is pending against the elder Davis.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Parker and Officer A. Mares reported:

Randy and James Davis live at the same residence at 6111 Sherwood. On Monday night, the two got into an argument. At some point, James Davis shot his brother twice and then fled. Randy was pronounced dead at the scene. James Davis was arrested about 10:55 p.m. at another location.
