Incident at 2000 Lamar

April 28, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the discovery of what appear to be skeletal remains of an unknown female in the 2000 block of Lamar about 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday (Apr. 27).

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T.C. Bloyd and Officer D.L. Robertson reported:

A person contracted by the HPD Neighborhood Protection Division to cut grass at a lot in the 2000 block of Lamar arrived there about 8:25 a.m. While looking in the overgrown lot, the lawn maintenance worker saw the remains. They appear to be those of a female. The Harris County Medical Examiner's office will conduct an autopsy in an effort to determine the woman's identity.
