Traffic Incident at 5400 Lockwood

August 30, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5400 Lockwood about 8:30 a.m. today (Aug. 30).

The deceased motorist is identified as Gerry Polk, 37.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.R. Hurd and Officer R.E. Tallent reported:

The male victim, driving a 1982 tan Dodge pickup truck, was traveling north on Lockwood when he drove off the roadway. The truck then struck a guy wire, went up on the wire and then rolled over. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
