Traffic Incident at 5100 North Freeway HOV Lane

December 3, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian at 5100 North Freeway HOV lane (northbound) on December 2,2005 about 5:50 p.m.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N.Q. Nguyen and Officer R. Stafford reported:

The victim is a b/m between 30 to 40 years of age. He attempted to cross the HOV lane from the east side to the west side. While crossing, the victim's foot got stuck on the concrete barrier causing him to trip onto the side of an oncoming bus that was traveling northbound in the HOV lane. The name of the bus company is Coach USA, which is operated by Brazos Transit District. The bus driver has not been charged of any wrongdoing.
