Incident at 11402 Beechnut

December 4, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men at 11402 Beechnut on December 3, 2005 about 10:50 p.m.

The first victim is identified as Alvaro Acosta, 25, of 10518 Cook Road. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim is identified as Gilberto Martinez Jimenez, 22, of 11402 Beechnut #224. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter is described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties. He is 5'05" to 5'06" tall and between 160 to 170 pounds heavy. He was wearing a white sweater with a hood, black jeans with dark colored shoes. He was armed with a semi-automatic pistol.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late twenties. He is 5'05" to 5'06" tall and between 160 to 170 pounds heavy. He was wearing a gray short sleeve shirt with blue jeans and black polo type shoes.

The third suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties. He is 5'05" to 5'06" tall and between 160 to 170 pounds heavy. His clothes were dark in color.

HPD Homicide Division Officers I.F. Flores and P.T. Yochum reported:

Mr. Acosta and Mr. Jimenez were both in the back parking lot of the property when three Hispanic males approached them. A confrontation ensued and one of the suspects pulled out a pistol and fired numerous shots at Acosta and Jimenez. When HPD officers arrived at the scene, they found Mr. Acosta deceased and Mr. Jimenez being transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. The suspects ran off into a residential neighborhood just north of where the shooting occurred.
