Incident at 500 West Crosstimbers

December 10, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 500 West Crosstimbers about 8 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 9).

The victim is identified as Patrick Rios, 19, of 500 West Crosstimbers #22.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.K. Peters and Officer A.J. Palos reported:

Patrick Rios was in or near his vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex when two unknown Hispanic male suspects approached him and demanded his car keys and his jewelry. One suspect produced a handgun and shot Rios. Both suspects fled the scene on foot. Rios was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
