Incident at 1303 La Concha

December 29, 2005 -- A disturbance between residents at a local motel at 1303 La Concha erupted into gunfire leading to the death of one resident on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 around 10 p.m.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Investigators Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer M.S. Walker, two groups of males got into an altercation that lead to gunfire in two separate locations within the motel. The black male victim sustained several gunshot wounds. The Harris County Medical Examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the victim's cause of death and his identity.

HPD investigators were told that the victim is a former resident of New Orleans and a Hurricane Katrina evacuee.

The suspect(s) and the motive for the shooting are unknown and anyone with information in this incident is asked to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
