Traffic Incident at 3100 East Freeway

February 18, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3100 East Freeway inbound on Thursday, February 17, 2005 about 8:45 p.m.

Traffic Division Investigator R. Davidson reported:

A Jeep was traveling inbound on the East Freeway when a person attempting to cross the freeway was struck. The victim, whose identity is unknown at this time, as pronounced dead at the scene. According to the driver, because of his speed and the narrow construction lanes, he was unable to avoid striking the victim.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
